Notch
Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 October 2026. Questions: hello@apogeelabs.org.
What is Notch?
Notch is a shared-living app that helps flatmates manage chores, split expenses, and keep a shared shopping list. Your data stays within your household group.
What data we collect
- Account info: your email address and display name (you set this yourself).
- Household data: chores you create or complete, expenses you log, shopping items, and leaderboard points. This is shared only with members of your household.
- Device token: a push notification token, stored on your account, so we can send alerts to your device (e.g. when a housemate completes a chore). It is used only to deliver notifications.
- Subscription status: if you buy Notch Pro, our payments provider records that you have an active subscription. We never see or store your card details — those are handled by Apple or Google.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We do not run ads.
Where your data lives
Your core account and household data is stored on Supabase — a GDPR-compliant infrastructure provider hosted in the EU.
Who else processes data for us
We use a small number of trusted providers ("subprocessors") to run the app. They only receive the minimum needed to do their job:
- Supabase (EU) — database, authentication and storage.
- Expo (USA) — delivery of push notifications via your device token.
- RevenueCat (USA) — manages Notch Pro subscription status. Receives an app-generated user ID and your subscription state, never your card details.
- Apple / Google — process payments for Notch Pro under their own privacy policies.
Who can see your data
Only the members of your household can see your household's chores, expenses, and shopping list. No one outside your household — including us — can read your household data.
Push notifications
We use Expo's push notification service to deliver alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the app.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly in the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, chores, expenses, shopping items and points immediately and cannot be undone.
You can also leave a household at any time from Settings → Leave household without deleting your account. If you prefer, you can email hello@apogeelabs.org to request deletion and we will process it within 30 days.
Children
Notch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and notify users via the app.
